Tincan Customs Generates N347bn Revenue in Q1 – CAC

The Tincan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reported a total revenue collection of N347 billion for the first quarter of 2025, showing a notable increase compared to the same period last year.

Frank Onyeka, the Customs Area Controller (CAC) at the command, shared these figures while addressing journalists on Monday. He explained that the revenue collections were spread across the three months of the first quarter. In January, the command generated N116 billion, reflecting a 24% increase from the N88 billion collected in January 2024.

In February, the command collected N103 billion, marking a modest 2.9% growth from N100 billion collected in February of the previous year. March saw the largest increase, with N128 billion collected, a 10.3% rise compared to the N115 billion collected in March 2024.

In total, the Tincan Island Command recorded N347.9 billion in revenue for Q1 2025, a 12.6% rise from the N304 billion collected in the same period in 2024.

Onyeka attributed the improved revenue to increased stakeholder engagement and urged all parties involved to ensure honest declarations to facilitate smoother operations. He also thanked the management of the Nigeria Customs Service for their ongoing support and pledged to continue fostering a collaborative environment with all stakeholders to drive further improvements in the command’s operations.
