Tinubu Support Group Launches Grassroots Mobilisation in Abia, Empowers Youth and Small Businesses

Umuahia, Abia State – June 28, 2025

A political support group loyal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commenced a robust grassroots mobilisation campaign in Abia State, aimed at deepening civic engagement and empowering young people and small-scale entrepreneurs.

The initiative, which kicked off over the weekend, saw hundreds of youth and local business owners in Umuahia and surrounding communities benefit from various empowerment packages, including financial grants, business tools, and training opportunities.

Speaking during the event, the Coordinator of the group, Mr. Chibuzo Anyanwu, said the movement is part of a nationwide effort to propagate the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration at the grassroots level, especially in the South-East.

“We are here to show that the government’s vision of inclusive growth and youth empowerment is not just a slogan. It is a practical and people-oriented approach to development,” he stated.

He added that the programme targets unemployed youth, small business operators, artisans, and market women, with a special focus on equipping them with the tools and funding to become economically independent.

Beneficiaries received startup kits ranging from sewing machines, hairdressing equipment, and POS terminals to small business capital. Several participants also underwent entrepreneurship orientation sessions aimed at enhancing their business acumen and financial literacy.

In his remarks, the Abia State coordinator of the group, Mr. Uchechukwu Nwosu, said the gesture is a message of hope and inclusion, stressing that no part of Nigeria would be left behind under President Tinubu’s administration.

Local leaders and community stakeholders who attended the event commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful in addressing youth unemployment and economic hardship.

The group announced that similar empowerment and sensitisation activities will be rolled out across other local government areas in Abia and beyond in the coming months.
