Makurdi, Benue State – June 18, 2025
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday paid a compassionate visit to victims of recent violent attacks receiving treatment at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi.
The President, who was in the state for an official visit, took time to sympathize with the injured survivors, assuring them of the federal government’s commitment to their recovery and safety. He described the attacks as senseless and reiterated his administration’s resolve to end insecurity and restore peace across all affected communities.
During the visit, President Tinubu was received by the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, hospital officials, and state dignitaries. He also interacted directly with some of the victims, offering words of encouragement and promising that the government would foot their medical bills.
“We cannot allow this cycle of violence to continue. We will support you, heal the wounded, and bring the perpetrators to justice,” the President said.
This visit comes amid renewed calls for enhanced security measures in the North-Central region, where several communities have been affected by recurring conflicts.
