Tottenham are still in talks with West Ham over a move for Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus despite having a £50 million offer turned down.
Spurs are eager to bring the 24-year-old to North London but face a major challenge as West Ham are holding out for a higher fee. There remains a significant gap in valuation between the two clubs, but sources say the Hammers are expecting Tottenham to return with an improved offer.
Kudus is said to be keen on a move to Tottenham and personal terms are not expected to be a problem. However, West Ham are in no rush to sell. The Ghana international is under contract until 2028, with an option for one more year, putting the club in a strong position.
Chelsea are also monitoring the situation and exploring the terms of a potential deal, but for now Kudus has his sights set on joining Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Tottenham are in the market for a forward who can operate across the frontline and believe Kudus fits that role perfectly. The exciting attacker scored 18 goals in all competitions last season and impressed in both the Premier League and European outings.
If a deal goes through, it would mark the first transfer between Tottenham and West Ham in 14 years, the last being Scott Parker’s move in 2011.
Spurs fans will be watching closely as the club looks to land one of the most sought-after attacking talents in the league this summer.
