
The United Bank for Africa (UBA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) have entered into a partnership aimed at driving innovation and excellence in the finance and accounting profession. The partnership, which was formalized at a ceremony in Lagos, is expected to promote research and development in finance and accounting, as well as provide opportunities for professional development and capacity building. According to the Group Managing Director of UBA, Mr. Oliver Alawuba, the partnership is a demonstration of the bank’s commitment to driving innovation and excellence in the finance and accounting profession. “At UBA, we are committed to driving innovation and excellence in the finance and accounting profession,” Alawuba said. “Our partnership with ICAN is a testament to this commitment, and we are excited to work together to promote excellence in the profession.” The President of ICAN, Mrs. Comfort Eyitayo, commended UBA for its commitment to promoting excellence in the finance and accounting profession. “We are pleased to partner with UBA to drive innovation and excellence in the finance and accounting profession,” Eyitayo said. “This partnership will provide opportunities for our members to develop their skills and knowledge, and to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the profession.” The partnership is also expected to promote the development of accounting standards and practices in Nigeria, as well as provide opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing between UBA and ICAN. As part of the partnership, UBA and ICAN will work together to develop and implement training programs for accounting professionals, as well as provide opportunities for research and development in finance and accounting.
