Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Friday led the Federal Government delegation to the funeral of the late Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammadu Sani Sami (rtd), in Zuru, Kebbi State.
Shettima, who conveyed President Bola Tinubu’s condolences, described the late emir as a revered monarch whose legacies of service and leadership “will be remembered for generations.”
The Emir, also known as Gomo II, passed away in London after a brief illness earlier in August. He was laid to rest in Zuru on Friday in accordance with Islamic rites, with dignitaries, traditional rulers, and community members in attendance.
Vice-President Shettima prayed for the repose of the late monarch’s soul and urged the people of Kebbi and Nigerians at large to uphold his legacy of peace, unity, and service.
