Islamabad, Pakistan – June 18, 2025
Amid escalating hostilities between Iran and Israel, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan has issued a strong statement reaffirming Tehran’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and national security.
In a press briefing held at the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad on Tuesday, the ambassador declared, “We will defend our country to the fullest extent of our ability.” His remarks come in the wake of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear facilities, which have drawn widespread international concern and heightened fears of a wider regional conflict.
The ambassador condemned what he described as “unprovoked aggression” by Israel and urged the global community to hold Tel Aviv accountable for escalating tensions in the Middle East. He also called for diplomatic support from neighboring countries and reaffirmed Iran’s dedication to regional peace, but not at the expense of its national integrity.
“We are a sovereign nation with the right to self-defense,” he stated. “If attacked, we will respond decisively, and our resilience should not be underestimated.”
The comments follow a series of diplomatic engagements between Iran and its allies, as Tehran seeks to rally regional and international backing amid the intensifying crisis.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has reiterated its stance for peace and de-escalation, calling for restraint from both sides and advocating for dialogue under the framework of international law.
