Russia has strongly denounced the recent Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, warning that such actions pose a serious threat to both regional and global stability.
In an official statement on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova described the Israeli regime’s attacks as “illegal,” “dangerous,” and “a direct threat to regional and global security.”
Zakharova criticised the strikes as a reckless escalation in an already volatile Middle East, cautioning that unilateral military actions against sovereign infrastructure could trigger broader consequences.
She urged all parties to exercise restraint and called on the international community to take concrete steps to prevent further escalation. The Russian official also reiterated Moscow’s support for diplomatic resolutions and warned against the normalization of preemptive military action.
Russia has long maintained strategic ties with both Iran and Israel, but Zakharova’s statement underscores growing concern in Moscow over the expanding scope of military confrontations in the region.
The condemnation comes amid rising fears of a wider conflict following Israel’s overnight air raids on suspected Iranian nuclear and military installations. Tehran has vowed to respond decisively, further intensifying global calls for urgent de-escalation.
