Abuja, Nigeria – June 2, 2025 – The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), CON, OFR, today received a high-level delegation from Operation Safe Corridor and members of its advisory committee at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation, led by Brig. Gen. Yusuf Ali, Coordinator of Operation Safe Corridor, was in Abuja for strategic discussions on strengthening collaboration between the NDLEA and the rehabilitation and reintegration programme for repentant insurgents.
During the meeting, both parties explored areas of synergy in intelligence sharing, counselling, vocational training, and substance abuse rehabilitation as part of broader efforts to support national security and peacebuilding initiatives.
Gen. Marwa reiterated NDLEA’s commitment to supporting reintegration initiatives that align with its mandate of combating drug trafficking and abuse, which are often linked to insecurity.
Brig. Gen. Ali, on his part, commended the NDLEA’s nationwide operations and emphasized the importance of multi-agency cooperation in the success of the Safe Corridor programme, which aims to deradicalize and reintegrate ex-combatants into society.
The engagement marks a significant step in fostering institutional partnerships critical to Nigeria’s counterinsurgency and post-conflict recovery strategies.
