The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerian youths to reject the temptation of seeking quick wealth through illegal activities, particularly cyber fraud, and instead focus on honest and productive ventures.
Speaking at the inauguration of the EFCC’s Zero Tolerance Club at Citi Polytechnic, Abuja, Olukoyede emphasized the importance of integrity, hard work, and lawful entrepreneurship as essential values for national development. He encouraged students to channel their creativity positively, citing successful global entrepreneurs who built their fortunes through innovation and perseverance.

“Crime does not pay. We want you to become responsible citizens who will contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s growth,” Olukoyede said.
He highlighted the role of the Zero Tolerance Club in promoting honesty, exposing fraud, and discouraging greed among students. Olukoyede also warned that all crimes have consequences and urged youths to discard the “get-rich-quick” mindset.
The EFCC’s Head of Enlightenment and Reorientation, ACEII Aisha Mohammed, stressed the need for awareness and cooperation from young people in combating economic crimes. She urged students to spread the message and understand the harm fraud causes to victims.
Chief Barima Wate, Rector of Citi Polytechnic, thanked the EFCC for its engagement and affirmed the institution’s commitment to fostering a culture of integrity among students.
The EFCC continues to call on Nigerian youths to pursue legitimate means of livelihood as the foundation for a prosperous and crime-free society.
