World number one Aryna Sabalenka cruised into the Miami Open final with a convincing 6-2 6-2 victory over sixth seed Jasmine Paolini. The Belarusian superstar has yet to drop a set in the tournament and showed no signs of slowing down as she dispatched Paolini in just 1 hour and 13 minutes.
Sabalenka, a three-time Grand Slam champion, has now reached back-to-back finals, following her loss to Mirra Andreeva at Indian Wells earlier this month. She will face either teenage wildcard Alexandra Eala or American fourth seed Jessica Pegula in the final on Saturday.
The top seed delivered a clinical performance, overpowering Paolini with her potent serve and precise groundstrokes. Sabalenka’s dominance was evident from the outset, as she broke Paolini’s serve twice in the first set to take a commanding lead.
“I’m super-happy that I was able to give myself another chance, another final, another opportunity to hold a trophy,” Sabalenka said in her post-match interview. “She’s an incredible player, so I knew I would have to work for every point.”
Sabalenka has now reached her fourth final in 2025, having won in Brisbane in January and suffered defeats at the Australian Open and Indian Wells. With her sights set on the Miami Open title, Sabalenka will be looking to bounce back from her recent losses and claim her second title of the year.
