Trinity University to Graduate 122 Students, 28 Earn First-Class Honors –

Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos State, is set to confer first degrees on 122 graduates during its third convocation ceremony on Friday, with 28 students earning first-class honors.

Speaking on Monday while unveiling the lineup of activities for the event, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Clement Kolawole, shared that 65 students will graduate with second-class upper division, 25 with second-class lower division, and three with third-class honors.

Farouq Animashaun from the Computer Science department emerged as the overall best-graduating student with an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.95.

The convocation ceremony, to be presided over by the Chancellor, Samuel Adedoyin, will also feature the conferment of an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration and Management upon the President of the Architect Registration Council of Nigeria, Dipo Ajayi.

Additionally, on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of Coscharis Group, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, will deliver the convocation lecture titled “Success is Not a Degree.” The lecture will be chaired by a member of the university’s Governing Council, Dr. Olufemi Oyinsan.

Preceding the convocation, the university will hold its matriculation ceremony on Thursday, welcoming 554 new students. The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, will deliver the matriculation lecture on “The Central Place of University Education in Personal and National Development.”

Other events planned for the weeklong convocation include student activities, exhibitions, social events, an alumni visit to halls of residence and departments, as well as a meeting with the university management and select Governing Council members.

Prof. Kolawole also highlighted the university’s ongoing expansion in programs and facilities to meet the growing demands of its students. Recently, Trinity University introduced skill acquisition programs in digital literacy, entrepreneurship, fashion design, graphic design, photography, videography, hospitality and mixology, addiction science, and logistics management. These additions aim to equip students with practical skills for entrepreneurship and job readiness upon graduation
