Ankara, June 22, 2025 – Turkey’s Foreign Minister has sharply criticised Israel’s recent military action against Iran, warning that the June 13 strike could push the Middle East into what he described as a “total disaster.”
Speaking at a press conference in Ankara, the minister condemned the attack, stating that Israel’s aggressive stance not only threatens regional stability but also risks igniting a broader conflict involving multiple actors across the region.
“The strike on Iran on June 13 is a reckless provocation,” he said. “Israel is dragging the entire Middle East toward chaos and disaster. This is unacceptable.”
The minister called on the international community to intervene diplomatically and urged restraint on all sides to prevent a full-blown war. He reiterated Turkey’s position that only dialogue and mutual respect for sovereignty can ensure peace in the region.
While Israel has not officially confirmed the specifics of its reported operation, regional sources have suggested that the strike targeted Iranian military infrastructure in response to escalating threats.
The growing tension between Israel and Iran has raised alarms globally, with several governments—including Turkey—warning that further military actions could unravel years of diplomatic efforts to maintain a fragile balance in the region.
