June 16, 2025 – Tehran, Iran
The Iranian Foreign Ministry has accused the United States of failing to restrain Israel’s military actions, claiming that Washington is turning a blind eye to what it calls “aggression” against Iran.
In a strongly worded statement on Monday, the ministry said:
“The United States does not want to deter Israel. On the contrary, its silence and continued support embolden Israel’s reckless behavior, further endangering regional peace.”
The statement comes amid a sharp escalation in hostilities between Israel and Iran, with cross-border strikes and diplomatic tensions reaching new heights. Iran argues that the U.S., by not publicly condemning Israel’s strikes or intervening to de-escalate the conflict, is complicit in the ongoing violence.
The Iranian government also warned that the current situation could spiral into a broader regional war if the international community, particularly the U.S., does not act to curb Israeli actions.
While Washington has expressed concern over the rising tensions, it has reaffirmed Israel’s right to self-defense, further deepening the diplomatic divide between the U.S. and Iran.
