Access Bank Not Owing FCTA Ground Rent – Source Affirms, Branch Operates Uninterrupted

A reliable source within the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has dismissed claims circulating in some quarters suggesting that Access Bank is indebted to the administration over unpaid ground rent. Contrary to speculation, the source confirmed that the leading financial institution is up to date with its statutory obligations concerning its property in Abuja.

This clarification comes amid tension surrounding the sealing of several business premises by FCTA authorities over non-compliance with ground rent payments. However, it has been confirmed that Access Bank is not among the defaulters.

An insider privy to the development disclosed that the branch in question—located within the FCT—is fully operational, with no disruptions to banking activities. “There is no debt owed by Access Bank regarding ground rent, and as such, the branch continues to serve customers without any hindrance,” the source affirmed.

Meanwhile, efforts by FCTA to enforce compliance on ground rent payments have seen several properties sealed recently as part of a broader revenue drive. The move is aimed at boosting the territory’s internally generated revenue and ensuring accountability from land titleholders.

Access Bank, one of Nigeria’s foremost financial institutions, has reiterated its commitment to regulatory compliance and good corporate citizenship. Customers in the affected area have been assured of uninterrupted services as the branch remains open and business activities continue as usual.
