Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has unveiled a state-of-the-art digital platform known as the Ekiti Dashboard—a real-time Strategic Pillar Monitoring System (SPMS) designed to track and report the progress of all government projects and initiatives across the state.
The innovation, which Governor Oyebanji described as “the first of its kind by any state government in Nigeria,” was launched at an official event held at the Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti. The governor said the platform was developed to drive transparency, improve accountability, and strengthen the delivery of his administration’s development agenda.
“Gone are the days of guessing where projects are or how far they’ve gone,” Oyebanji declared. “This dashboard will allow citizens, civil society groups, and even journalists to monitor projects from start to finish. If a borehole has been approved for a community, everyone will know whether it has been delivered or not—no more room for opacity.”
The SPMS platform provides a digital interface that allows for the tracking of performance across Governor Oyebanji’s six pillars of development—governance, economy, youth development, infrastructure, social investment, and agriculture. By integrating real-time data, GPS mapping, and project documentation, the system allows government agencies and the public to see project statuses and flag lapses.
The initiative is spearheaded by the state’s Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), under the leadership of Dr. John Ekundayo. He explained that the Ekiti Dashboard is more than a monitoring tool—it is a tool of reform. “It puts performance under public scrutiny and aligns governance with outcomes that matter to the people,” Ekundayo said.
Key stakeholders, including the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro; Head of Service, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi; and other top government officials, attended the launch. They hailed the dashboard as a critical instrument that will help eliminate wastage, track project efficiency, and enhance citizen trust in government.
The move has been widely praised by policy analysts and transparency advocates, who say it could serve as a national model for states seeking to curb corruption and improve governance outcomes.
With this bold step, Governor Oyebanji has placed Ekiti on the path of open governance and data-driven decision-making, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to inclusive and people-focused development.
