Lagos Appoints New Public Service Innovation Ambassadors to Strengthen Governance

Lagos – In a fresh push to deepen reforms and improve service delivery across the state, the Lagos State Government has appointed a new batch of Public Service Innovation Ambassadors. The announcement was made through the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI), with the appointees drawn from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

According to the state government, the newly appointed ambassadors are expected to lead Creativity and Innovation Committees within their respective MDAs, promoting fresh ideas and driving innovative practices that will enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and public satisfaction in service delivery.

The initiative, part of Lagos State’s broader transformation agenda, is aimed at building a robust culture of innovation across the public sector. It also aligns with the state’s THEMES+ development agenda, which emphasizes transparency, technology, health, education, mobility, and environmental sustainability.

Speaking on the appointments, the Director-General of the OTCI, Mr. Toba Otusanya, said the ambassadors were carefully selected through a merit-based process, ensuring that only individuals with a track record of creativity, leadership, and commitment to public service excellence were chosen.

“These ambassadors will serve as change agents in their respective MDAs. They are expected to champion ideation, support knowledge sharing, and build internal mechanisms that inspire performance and service innovation,” Otusanya said.

He added that the ambassadors would receive training and support from the OTCI to ensure they are equipped to carry out their duties effectively. The Lagos State Government, he noted, remains committed to promoting a work culture that encourages experimentation and the adaptation of global best practices in governance.

This latest move is another indication of the Sanwo-Olu administration’s dedication to positioning Lagos as a model for good governance and public sector innovation in Nigeria and beyond.
