Trump Vows Swift Action Against Iran If Nuclear Activities Resume

Washington D.C., USA – June 2025
Former United States President and Republican frontrunner for the 2024 elections, Donald J. Trump, has issued a stern warning to Iran, vowing that he would not hesitate to authorize military strikes should the Islamic Republic restart its nuclear weapons programme.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Florida on Tuesday night, Trump accused the current U.S. administration of being “weak on Iran,” claiming that Tehran had become emboldened since his departure from office. He reiterated his hardline stance, asserting that any movement by Iran toward nuclear weaponization would be met with immediate and decisive force.

“If Iran dares to restart its nuclear programme to develop weapons, I will bomb them like never before. They know I mean it,” Trump said to a cheering crowd. “I kept them in check during my time, and I’ll do it again.”

The comments have drawn swift reactions from both international observers and policy experts. Iran has yet to issue a formal response, but sources close to its Foreign Ministry described the remarks as “provocative and irresponsible.”

Trump’s administration had unilaterally exited the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the Iran nuclear deal, in 2018, reimposing sanctions and escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. His latest remarks suggest a continuation of that hawkish foreign policy if he returns to office.

While some analysts argue that such rhetoric is aimed at energizing Trump’s political base, others warn that it could further destabilize Middle East diplomacy, especially amid ongoing regional conflicts and fragile global security dynamics.

The White House has not officially commented on Trump’s statement, but sources say the administration remains committed to diplomacy and non-proliferation through multilateral engagement.
